In this class, I will teach you the process of making a 56” square Shoofly Star quilt similar to the one pictured, using fabrics of your choice!
The class will meet on Saturday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. on these dates:
April 30, May 14, June 18, July 16, August 20, and September 17 (only if we need the extra day), 2022
Location: Sew Classic Fabrics inside the Shenandoah Heritage Market, 121 Carpenter Lane (4309 South Valley Pike)* GPS Address For Main Entrance)*, Harrisonburg, VA 22801
Skills learned:
Select and prepare fabrics for quilting
Cut with a rotary cutter
Piece with half-square and quarter-square triangles
Embellish with featherstitching (optional)
Assemble the layers of a quilt and prepare for quilting
Learn to machine or hand-quilt
Prepare and place binding
You will need to bring your own sewing machine to class. There will be a cutting mat and rotary cutter available and iron and ironing board; however, to eliminate waste of time in waiting, you may bring your own cutting mat/rotary cutter, iron and ironing mat with you, if you choose.
If you wish to machine-quilt the quilt on your own machine, you will need a walking foot for your machine.
A list of supplies will be provided in the class, and I will spend the first class session assisting you with fabric selection, etc.

3 participants: $149
4 participants: $129
5 participants: $109
*Does not include supplies.
Basically, if you refer someone, you will both benefit from a reduced class fee! To register, you will pay a non-refundable $50 deposit, and you may pay the remaining balance at the May 14 class.
