It's Been One Year! And a Giveaway to Celebrate!
It seems surreal that I started this blog one year ago! My first post was about the dollhouse from my childhood that I wanted to start decorating with my girls. I quickly realized after fragile dollhouse furniture from my childhood crumbled with the not-so-gentle touch of little fingers that it would have to be a project to put on hold for a while. They still play with the dollhouse, using sturdier furniture and dolls that my friend Mary of Trout Lily Hill sent as happy mail several months ago. I do look forward to fixing it up with them when they are a little older, and I will definitely share about it then.
Instead of sharing new content with you today, I am sharing some of the most popular posts frequented by visitors over the past year and past month.
The top three posts of the past year are as follows:
The popularity of this post completely surprised me because I wrote it mainly to help me remember what I had learned that day. Apparently, people are finding it from all over the world, however.
The amazing needlework of my Grandmother was beautifully displayed in this post.
In this post, I shared one of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes.
And over the past 30 days, these two posts have also been popular:
I think that knitting and crocheting are seasonal hobbies for a lot of people—it’s just that time of year!
Has anyone tried making a pillow cover using this tutorial?
Over the next few months, I will be sharing about the direction I plan to take my business. I will still be blogging, but I will not be sewing to sell as much. My husband and I are both very excited about the plan because it will allow him to use his advanced degree in instructional technology to help me achieve what I want to accomplish, but I will wait to share details.
Giveaway is closed. The winner is Kristen G.!
As a thank you to my subscribers, I am offering a giveaway. To enter, just leave me a comment on this blog post telling me what product I have made that you would like or what product you were hoping I would make and haven’t offered yet. The entry deadline is Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 12 p.m. I will arbitrarily select a winner and announce the winner in the next blog post. Please note that it may take up to 6-8 weeks to receive the product. (I have several other sewing projects in the queue along with upcoming doctor’s appointments that may cause a delay). You must be a subscriber residing in the USA to be eligible.
As the holidays approach, are there any tutorials or topics that you would like me to share? If so, let me know in the comments or by sending me an email!
Have a great week!
On a personal note, thanks to those of you who are praying for my health. My cardiologist called me at 5 p.m. Friday night and talked to me for about 15 minutes. He doesn’t know what is going on. The tests done so far do not indicate what the problem is, and based on what he said on Friday, it appears that I am facing a heart catheterization so that the pressures in my heart can be checked. Even though I know it’s a fairly routine procedure, it’s scary to me. He is also trying to figure out what other tests to order to figure out the cause of my edema, weight gain, and shortness of breath. So, please pray that he would have wisdom. And pray that I would have peace and healing!
