A Pretty, Practical Way to Hang a Hand Towel
Are your hand towels constantly falling to the floor? No? You must not have young children or dogs, then. One of my daily frustrations is keeping towels to stay in place. And while I have come up with several sewing solutions, this week, I thought of a no-sew solution that is also decorative!
Simply, cut a piece of 27” lightweight cotton twill tape or ribbon. Fold the towel over the handle of the oven or dishwasher or towel holder. Wrap the ribbon around and tie in a pretty bow (or a loose knot if you have small children who will untie the bow). Because I wanted maximum drying capacity, I didn’t fold it in half, but left only enough length on the back to hang in place and hold the twill tape.
And that’s it! Just untie and reuse the tape or ribbon, washing it as necessary.
I had purchased a large roll of cotton twill tape as I was planning to share a tutorial on sewing loops on towels. I still have plans to use most of it, but as a gift, I will send a 27” piece of the cotton twill tape to the first four people who leave a comment below (US addresses only). Or, if you want to leave a comment, but don’t want the piece of twill tape, that is fine, too. Just let me know.
Hope this helps you every day!
Tomorrow, I will be sharing the tutorial for hand-sewing a drawstring project bag. Stay tuned!
